Principal Message, United College
United college has completed five years of steady and progressive journey to reach its goals, promises and commitments.
It has not been that easy to work for some set goals. During this period we have faced challenges and we have made honest efforts to overcome them. Yet, we believe that a real journey is never smooth. Encountering difficulties emboldens us, inspires more faith and confidence to continue to work.
We measure success in our own terms. We wish to earn success by hard work. We hardly believe in pretensions of success by floating big ideas and messages, which we do not mean to put into action. If we are able to identify our own ignorance, weakness and handicaps, we can also identify our strength. If we learn how to correct ourselves, if we learn how to listen to others, we may gain access to human understanding, which, infact is the spirit of education. Let us not make loud pretensions about goals of education. Our simple goal is to be honest, to recognize our priorities and needs and make effort to work for them.
United College is making gradual success to honour our commitments to our students and their parents.
We extended into M.B.S. programme in 2005. It was a need to do so. In 2007, we are introducing B.A. programme. Again it is a long felt need. Our work speaks for us whether we are justified in such decisions.
But a major breakthrough in our academic interest for the progress of students is the agreement of mutual academic cooperation between the Kent State University of USA and United College. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has been officially signed between the Kent State University and United College in April 2007. This MoU opens opportunities to our students who are interested to obtain MBA or any other Masters degree from USA. Our BBS students after completing BBS at United College, Tribhuvan University can go to the Kent University for further studies. After studying 3 years at Kent, they obtain MBA from USA. Students from Science and Humanities can also go to Kent for further studies. Kent offers many options and chances for their academic career. The MoU gives several advantages to our students, financial, professional as well as academic. We ask our students to avail of this chance.
Recently, after signing the MoU, we have sent six of our students to Kent for further studies.
The MoU with the Kent State University is one of our concrete works towards fulfillment our commitments. Coordinator's Message
The seemingly occurring strange and complex development through out the world is what could be described as the key feature of the new millennium. Traditionalism is required to give way to pragmatism, if the survival, growth, and development have to be realized. The transition from traditionalism to pragmatism is difficult and painful but yet inevitable and what smooths it is the knowledge.
With the conviction that the knowledge is power and acts as the only instrument to cope with the new millennium problem united College aims at developing competitive human capital for the society and the nation. Realizing the root level situation, UC has been taking on the strategy of "Caring", "Counseling", and "Coaching". In addition, UC understands the existing and emerging challenges and is fully prepared to take these challenges and prepares itself to provide its incumbents the latest knowledge and skills through scientific and disciplined approach of teaching.
At the micro level, what the UC has been attempting, since its conception, inception and development, is focused on producing knowledgeable, confident, competent, responsible and highly disciplined human capital through whom the society is transformed from a less developed to developed one, at the micro level. To fulfill its mission, UC uses all the necessary infrastructures both physical and academic to their fullest extent in order to enable the students to face all sorts of challenges and problems.
United college is a part of the United Education System, which boastfully proclaims itself as a complete institution which caters education from "Play Group" to "Post Graduate" levels.
The performance which the college has already witnessed for last several years has provided in immense sense of achievement with the overwhelmingly outstanding results.
